- Don't leave candles unattended
- Never put candles on your tree
- Keep candles away from other decorations

- When picking a tree, look for one with glossy, soft needles that spring back when bent
- Trim the base of the tree about 1/4" before setting it up. This will help it absorb water and stay fresher longer
- Keep your tree away from heat sources
- Water your tree often - An average tree looses 1 litre of water per day for each inch diameter
- When lots of needles start dropping off, it's time to take down the tree and put it outside
